Calp is committed to greater accessibility and participation in order to become an age-friendly city
Improving accessibility and promoting civic participation are two of the main goals Calp has set itself to become an age-friendly city. This morning, Rebeca Merchán, Councillor for the Elderly, together with Crea 360, the company responsible for drawing up the plan, presented the local action plan for the "Calp, towns for the elderly" project, which includes measures to adapt the municipality to this group and thus improve its quality of life.
Calp has renewed the treatment against pine processionary, which takes place annually in November and is repeated in February for reinforcement.
Although there is no indication that the incidence of pine processionary will be greater than in other years, the City Council for the Environment recommends caution in pine forest areas. This caution should be extreme in the case of minors and dogs and avoid contact with the caterpillar at all times.
The city council yesterday unanimously approved the government team's proposal to formalise a legal agreement on a provisional basis to resolve the precarious situation of health transport in Calp, although this is not the responsibility of the city council. This week, the Síndic de Greuges (Regional Government Ombudsman) himself requested a report from the regional Ministry of Health on the insecurity of the service.
The Mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, accompanied by the City Council for Fisheries and Ports, Paco Avargues, met with the Director General for Ports, Airports and Coasts, Emilio Olbiol, this morning in Valencia to learn about the condition of the Puerto Blanco marina, among other things.
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) will be offering a bus service between Olla de Altea and Calp stations between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on 8 and 9 February, as the planned work on the Mascarat bridge means that this section of Line 9 (Benidorm-Dénia) of the TRAM d'Alacant will have to be closed to rail traffic.
