The General Directorate of Roads, which is part of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, is carrying out works to adapt the Mascarat tunnels on the national road 332 between Calpe and Altea. In the last few weeks, the works have been carried out by cutting off one lane and diverting traffic in the other lane.
However, from Sunday 14th May until Sunday 21st May, work will be carried out on the entire roadbed, making it necessary to completely cut traffic on the N-332 in the area of the Mascarat tunnels, between kilometre points 164+700 and 165+500.
Due to this road closure, users will have to use the AP-7 motorway as an alternative route to the N-332, from the Altea-Calpe junction (Exit 64) to the Benissa-Teulada-Gata de Gorgos junction (Exit 63). The N-332 road closure and the alternative route will be suitably signposted, both on the N-332 itself and at Exits 63 and 64 of the AP-7.
The accesses from the N-332 to Maryvilla and the Barranc Salat area will be open and the residents of these areas will be able to circulate without problems, the only restriction being traffic towards Altea on the N-332.
The works, included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and financed with NextGeneration funds, are aimed at adapting these infrastructures to the safety and road safety requirements established in European regulations.
