Esplai Park of Calp, a new space for sports and leisure activities in the municipality, opens its doors today at 18.00. The 5,400 square metre infrastructure is located in the former Miguel Angel Benitez company facilities and includes an ice rink, an area for "parkour" practice and one for "skate park" to practice "skate boarding". The S`ortplatz also has a green area for the practice of Yoga, Zumba and sports with equipment.
In addition, biologically healthy training equipment has been installed and the scale of the facilities has been used to create an area for walking or running. All this will complete the installation of new street furniture and gardening.
All the lighting has also been renewed with LED lights, which allow a significant reduction in energy consumption, which has fallen from 48,000 W to 1,200 W. In fact, special lighting is maintained at night to avoid light pollution. Video surveillance cameras have also been installed to ensure the security of the area.
On the other hand, the maintenance workers of the sports area are redesigning the basketball and football pitches located next to the Esplai Park, with which the area's sports facilities cover more than 10,000 m2.
These sports facilities have a car park and access from both Avenida País Valencià and Vial J. They are open Monday to Sunday from 9am to 10pm.
In order to practice skateboarding, parkour and skating, the use of protective equipment will be compulsory. It is also recalled that although it is not necessary to wear a mask during sports activities, the safety distance must be respected.
