The Mesa de Acción Social por el Covid19, which was set up at the beginning of the state of alert and to which the social services, Caritas Calpe and the Red Cross of Calpe belong, has signed an agreement on confidentiality and protection arrangements for access to personal data.

Since the beginning of the state of alert, the social services have been working with the local social services of the third sector, in this case Caritas and the Red Cross, in order to ensure the consistency of action, the correct prioritisation of actions and the correct use of resources.

Following the guidelines of the Ministry of Social Rights, which recommends that the so-called third sector be given a leading role and that the necessary coordination in social actions be sought, a complementary action plan was drawn up with the institutions for social actions in the third sector based in Calp, which was put into practice with the creation of a Committee for Social Action.

This committee, which includes a member of Cáritas Parroquial de Calp, a member of the Municipal Assembly of the Spanish Red Cross and a technician from the Social Council, acts as a body for the participation and articulation of social actions, the distribution of food and the identification of needs in Calp, and provides all the groups involved with the means to carry out their work in a coordinated manner in order to reach the greatest possible number of people in need.

With the signing of the agreement, confidentiality and protection of access to personal data are now agreed with the bodies that will be part of the Social Action Committee for Covid-19. In this way, the members of the committee will be able to coordinate better, distribute tasks, identify the problems of the most vulnerable people in the community and be more effective in providing assistance.

In the plenary session last Monday, the mayor's decree was announced, increasing the amount of social emergency aid COVID19 to 150,000 euros this month. This aid is intended for food and hygiene products and for the pharmaceutical industry. Users who applied for these grants in April should not resume the procedure, as the social workers of the city administration will contact them.

On the other hand, the Centre for the Homeless set up in the Domingo Crespo Pavilion is still active and has 20 users.
