The Calpe City Council today opened the deadline to apply for grants for IBI (Property Tax). The subsidies are open to pensioners (also under 65 years of age) and long-term unemployed with low incomes.
These people can receive a subsidy of up to 400 Euros and up to 75% of the property tax. If the applicant is disabled or one of his/her family members proves a disability of 33% or higher, or is either a victim of gender-based violence or part of a single-parent family, this allowance is increased by 10%.
In order to benefit from this assistance, applicants must have paid property tax on their main residence in the city of Calpe in 2018 as owners or tenants. The applicant may only own one apartment in Calpe, which is also his/her main residence, and must be registered in Calpe at this address. It is also required that the gross annual income of all members of the family unit or couple in the last year taken together does not exceed twice the IPREM (Indicador Público de Renta de Efectos Múltiples) of the year of the call.
Persons over 65 or who have reached this age by 2018, persons under 65 who are social security pensioners by 2018 and the long-term unemployed by 2018 can benefit from this assistance.
Those interested can obtain information by 15 July from the Oficina de Atención al Ciudadano (OAC) of the municipality or calp.es.
The budget of the City has earmarked this year for these grants.
