Calp City Council has reduced the average payment period to 3'15 days in the second quarter of 2020. This is one of the best payment periods since the calculation was started in the third quarter of 2014, according to a report by the Departamento de Intervención. The fact is positive, especially in the current situation where companies need liquidity.

On average, the city needs 3'15 days to pay its suppliers. Thus, not only does the city comply with the rules on late payment, which oblige public administrations to pay within 30 days, but it also significantly reduces this period. In fact, this deadline reached 44'85 days in the third quarter of 2015 and 1,000 days in 2011.

This data leads to greater confidence of companies and suppliers in the City Council, is a guarantee of solvency and a guarantee for companies and businesses that work with the City. It also means greater competition among bidders for public contracts and therefore a greater variety of offers and services.

The Mayor, Ana Sala, highlighted the work of the Treasurer Fernando Ortiz: "The speed of payment ensures stability in our business network and is an example of efficiency and effectiveness of local government. The government team considers it essential to pay as quickly as possible and to keep our word with our suppliers, all the more so in these difficult times".
