A new line has been added to the Plan Resiste, launched by Calp City Council to counter the effects of Covid19. This line aims to subsidise up to 30% of the amount of waste tax charges for local businesses. The aim of the municipality is to revive the commercial sector of the municipality by mitigating the economic impact of the cessation of activities in recent months.

This measure and the regulatory basis for granting subsidies will be discussed at next Monday's plenary session. The aim is to help local businesses by subsidising waste tax charges by up to 30% in the first half of 2020 with a maximum of €2,000.

This aid is compatible with other subsidies to support local commerce to combat coronavirus, which were created by Calp Town Council, i.e. there is the possibility of opting for the aid from line 1 of the Plan Resiste, which is intended for commerce and businesses, and for the subsidies for waste charges. The aid is not compatible with aid granted by other administrations for the same purpose.

Natural or legal persons and entities without legal personality who were active in Calp between 1 January and 13 March 2020, who have business premises in Calp for the purpose of business operations, and who have ceased their business activities due to the state of alert, may apply for this subsidy.

To be eligible for the subsidy, the applicant must have paid the waste tax for the first half of 2020 and belong to one of the following groups: Commerce, special buildings, entertainment, industry, leisure and hospitality, office, health and social services. In the latter case, the rental contract must be presented. In this case, the landlord must agree with the person liable to pay the tax.
