Calp will have a continuous TIA service throughout 2021. The local council has requested this from the company holding the concession for this service, Applus. Applus has agreed to this request, taking advantage of the fact that the Generalitat Valenciana now allows mobile stations to remain in the cities.
The Mayor of Calp Ana Sala met with the Area Manager Alejandro Pastor and the Station Manager Jesús Hernández and thanked the company for its willingness to offer this service 365 days a year. "From January 2021, the inhabitants of Calp will renew the TIA in the municipality without having to move, which is very much appreciated in this pandemic situation," she said.
Until now, Calp had a mobile TIA station five months a year, spread over three periods: February, May and October. In 2021, it will be in continuous operation and it is expected that this service can be offered on a permanent basis in 2022.
One of the factors that led the TIA concessionaire to make this decision is the high demand that exists in Calp and the Marina Alta region. In 2019 alone, the Calp mobile station served a total of 9,850 users, most of them from Calp itself, but also from other municipalities in the region and the Marina Baixa.
In this way, the Marina Alta region will have two TIA stations: the permanent one in Ondara and the mobile one in Calp.
