The Calp City Council and the association De Amicitia have signed a cooperation agreement to run six international volunteer camps this summer to carry out environmental activities in the city.
The works consist of cleaning the beaches and coves, activities of visibility on the beaches on environmental awareness, cleaning and restoration of Casa del Cocó, adaptation of the old botanical garden, works of maintenance and forest monitoring and awareness raising of Covid-19.on the beaches.
The Calp Town Council will provide the volunteers of De Amicitia with the facilities of Casa Roja in Gargasindi for their stay and will give 1,500 euros for this project. De Amicitia, on the other hand, will be responsible for the maintenance of the volunteers and will provide the programme with a vehicle that will allow the volunteers to move around the municipality and its surroundings.
The six international volunteer camps will take place until 31 August, although the agreement provides for the possibility of carrying out other projects and programmes during the rest of the year, aimed at protecting the environment and at arts, sports and culture, if both parties agree.
This week, a group of volunteers has already begun the cleaning of Cala Manzanera and Les Urques.
