The Councils for Citizen Participation and Associations have published the Sustainable Development Calendar to raise awareness of the 2030 Agenda Goals.
This calendar replaces the Green Calendar, traditionally published by the two councils in collaboration with education centres and developed under Local Agenda 21 to spread and raise environmental awareness among school children and the general population.
The new calendar is adapted to the challenges of the 2030 Agenda, adopted by the United Nations at the Sustainable Development Summit in 2015, which had the Millennium Development Goals and Local Agenda 21 as its starting point.
This year, 12 partnerships participated, each painting a picture for 12 of the sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda: end poverty, zero hunger, health and well-being, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, education, affordable and clean energy, sustainable cities and communities, climate action, life below water, rural life and ecosystems, and peace, justice and strong institutions.
The associations that participated are the Red Cross, Manos Unidas, Fibromyalgia Association, Women's Association for Equality, Housewives Association, Unió Musical Calp Ifac, Amicitia, Lions Club, Ecological Association of Calp, Calpe Royal Yacht Club, Rotary Club and the Association for the Fight against Cancer.
Calp has printed 2,500 calendars and anyone who wants one can request one from the concierge at the entrance to the Town Hall.
The calendars are distributed to all the museums and to all the departments of the Town Hall. Anyone interested can do so at the door of the town hall or ask at the concierge desk at the entrance to the town hall.
