Along with the programme organised by the City Council for Equality to mark International Women's Day, Calp is celebrating the date today with a very special gathering: a representation of women who played an essential role during the lockdown and who are still involved in the community's response to the pandemic. This is a tribute to the work that women in general have done during the lockdown and continue to develop during the pandemic.
For example, the director of the health centre, a representative of the Guardia Civil, a representative of the local police, a representative of the Civil Defence, a representative of the SAD (home care service), a representative of the Red Cross, a representative of the pharmacists' group and a representative of the supermarkets' group have gathered.
All these women played an essential role during the delivery and today continue to develop different jobs and services in the local management of the pandemic. The gathering at the Plaza Mayor serves as a tribute to the role of women in our society on International Women's Day.
