The Social Department of Calp City Council began processing social emergency assistance for COVID19 on Friday, April 3, and in the first four days processed 358 calls, 349 mailings and 98 reports, resulting in assistance worth 15,770 euros.

 

After the Easter week holidays, it is estimated that between 14, 15 and 16 April, the aid grants will again reach the amount of 15,000 euros. These grants, confirmed in Tuesday's plenary session, are direct and rapid aid to deal with expenses related to food, hygiene and pharmacy products for people without resources.

 

In addition, two people who were already part of the municipal administration's staff have joined the Department of Social Services, and from this point on they will take on social work tasks to increase and speed up the surveys on the granting of COVID aid, and two new staff members will soon join them. Four new people have also joined the home care service.

 

In addition, this municipal service continues providing assistance in the area of gender-based violence.
