Today the parking area provisionally set up on the site of the future Gargasindi Special Education School opens to the public as a public car park to alleviate the lack of parking in the school zone.
On the municipal site located in Ausias March Street, in the middle of the school zone, and which previously housed the old Gargasindi school and the Virgen de las Nieves nursery school, levelling and clearing works have been carried out, as well as earth moving and works to adapt the plot for use as a public car park. The works have involved an investment of 43,221.20 €.
This decision was taken after realising that the work on the school will not start during the 2023-2024 school year and is a provisional measure as the local government's priority is to start work on the school.
This action has considered the need for vehicles to stop at peak times in the neighbouring schools: CEIP Azorín, CEIP Gabriel Miró and IES Ifach. The parking difficulties in the school area have worsened in recent months because a privately owned plot of land that was previously used as a public car park has been closed due to the start of works on the site.
