The Calp local police have filed a total of 34 complaints for failure to comply with the masking requirement since July 20. The City Council insists on the need to wear a mask, maintain social distance and exercise extreme caution at family or friends gatherings.

The City Council has received a letter from the Ministry of Health of the Regional Government informing it that the organisation of festivities, meetings or celebrations of cultural associations or the like, with more than 50 visitors, is subject to prior notification of the City Council by those responsible. In the event that the number of visitors to the event exceeds 150, a municipal permit must be obtained.

Therefore, the City Council informs the citizens of the need to avoid concentrations and to respect the capacity established by the Health Authority in each venue. For this reason, the six parks with barbecue areas were closed to the public last week as a preventive measure to avoid overcrowding, as it had been established that there was overcapacity. These are PicNic Square Oltà, the park of the San Salvador Chapel, La Vallesa, Enginent, Cometa and Llombers.

Mayor Ana Sala pointed out that "we all have to act responsibly and as citizens in order to keep the extension of COVID as small as possible19 ; from the Council of State we want to constantly remind the security measures and demand the responsibility of each individual".

In addition, Aguas de Calpe (water company) continues to carry out analyses of wastewater samples in the municipal sewerage network to determine the presence, concentration and evolution of SARS-CoV-2 genomic units in the effluents that cause COVID-19 disease.

The methodology used makes it possible to anticipate some of the indicators used and cross-reference the data with others collected by the Ministry of Health in order to add up information and obtain a more perfect picture of the progression or decline of the pandemic.
