The heliport of the ecological promenade of the Peñón de Ifach was the setting chosen by the Calpe Local Police for the practice of various drone drills.
The training day simulated exercises in search of people, support in the rescue of climbers, beach surveillance and boat control, using several drones of different characteristics.
"These exercises are part of the training process for officers who will make up the future Drone Unit of the Calpe Police," said Guillermo Sendra, Councillor for Public Safety, Civil Protection and Emergencies.
With the Drone Unit of the Local Police is intended to provide the Local Police with tools to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their interventions in the surveillance of any area of the municipality, the use of drones will reach hard to reach areas, control the coastline from the air and perform fire detection tasks.
