In August, Calp City Council will make exceptions to the Acoustic Conditions Ordinance, which prohibits all types of urbanization and construction works for residential construction, in order to mitigate the effects of the alarm condition and paralysis of the works on the industry.

At present, the decree prohibits all types of urbanisation, construction or engineering works on urban land for residential purposes between 1 and 31 August.

These measures were intended to ensure the tranquillity of tourists and residents, but now the government team is considering changing these conditions to make schedules and deadlines more flexible to compensate the sector for the cessation of its activities. The exemptions will not be applicable until 2020.

The Trade Councilor Paco Avargues said that "we are considering considering formulas, depending on the duration of the alert, that provide for flexible schedules and times for construction workers to return to normal activity and compensate for the time they had to stop".
