One of the first measures of the government of the new mayor, Ana Sala, has been the signing of the decree by which the City Council orders the company that is carrying out building works on the Alemania street, which immediately paralyzes any type of discharged into the maritime-terrestrial public domain.
The Department of the Environment was aware of the arrival of water with suspended materials in the Arenal-Bol beach for weeks and it was proven that they came from the water pumping of the groundwater level of the works on Alemania street. At that time, a resolution was issued in which the company responsible for the works was required to prove that they had the discharge authorization in accordance with the Coastal Law.
Although from the company ensures that they are clean waters (attaching analysis reports) so far has not been accredited to obtain the discharge authorization required by the City Council. Therefore, the mayor has signed the decree in which those responsible for the works are required to proceed today to the immediate cessation of discharges.
