The city council has installed the Carina chatbot on its website www.calp.es: an intelligent virtual assistant that answers basic questions about the coronavirus outbreak (infection, symptoms, prevention, etc.).

This virtual assistant was developed by the company 1MillionBot, which made it available free of charge to interested public administrations.  The Carina Chatbot is able to answer more than 88% of the questions, and every day it increases its ability to answer even the most complex questions.

Carina obtains its information from official sources such as the WHO (World Health Organization), the Ministry of Health and Government regulations, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, and scientific articles, and the information is updated daily.

The service offered allows a very high number of consultations to be managed simultaneously without human intervention and completes the current communication channels. In this way, it seeks to make a positive contribution to informing citizens by alleviating the saturation of information telephones in this respect.

The most frequently asked questions relate to the symptoms of coronavirus, what exactly it is, the areas at risk, how to protect yourself or what to do if symptoms occur.
