This morning the City Council held an ordinary meeting of the Presidium and focused the agenda on the measures to be taken in relation to COVID-19. In this way, the sports facilities, the culture house and library, the civic centre for the elderly, the Maite Boronat vocational centre, the museums, the Casa Nova University headquarters, the animal welfare service and the tourist offices are closed to the public.

 

The Town Hall offices, as well as the offices of Commerce, Punt Jove, Equality and others, will remain closed to the public, and the service for the public will be limited to the OAC Register, including the Register of Residents and the OMIC (Consumer Protection), but from Monday to Friday a minimum service will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the service will be limited to a maximum of 30 people by prior telephone agreement. These municipal employees will exercise the utmost caution when dealing with the public, and in the case of the other municipal departments, attention is guaranteed by telematic and e-mail.

 

The Tourist Offices will continue to provide telephone and online services. The Social Services Department will direct public work from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to the ground floor of the Casa de Cultura, which can be reached via the ramp on the right and not via the usual entrance. In this area the PEAE, the reinforcement service for children and the TAPIS will be suspended.

 

The weekly Saturday market and the Wednesday flea market are also suspended. All these measures will be effective from today until 15 days from now until further action is taken as the situation develops.

All social, cultural, sporting and social events will be postponed. For civil weddings in the Chamber, the capacity is limited to 25 people and it is recommended that the vigils in the city cemetery be restricted to direct relatives.

 

In addition, it is recommended not to visit parks and recreation areas and to restrict the events or meetings that could encourage the spread of the disease. It is also recommended to follow the advice of the health authorities to avoid infection, such as washing hands, not touching the face and coughing into the elbow or handkerchief.
