The plenary session of the Calp Town Council has approved to start the procedures for the creation of a family meeting point. The proposal was presented by the municipal group of Compromís and was supported by all the groups.

Family meeting points are spaces that facilitate the exchange of minors when there are complicated separation processes or when their mothers are victims of gender violence. The objective is to be able to comply with the visiting regimes avoiding complicated situations since there will be professionals who will facilitate these exchanges.

This proposal was already planned before by the government team to the Conselleria de Igualdad but it was denied because this service existed in Benissa. The closure of the meeting point in Benissa and its transfer to Denia wants to be taken advantage of now in order to apply for it again.

The plenary session also definitively approved the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan which will be the framework of reference in the coming years for the actions to be carried out in the field of mobility in Calp.

Among the objectives of this mobility plan are to contribute to a higher quality of life for the citizens, as well as to reduce the environmental impact of transport, a better energy balance and to promote a sustainable urban planning approach.

Among the most important actions that will be implemented and that are included in the mobility plan are the creation of pedestrian routes, safe school paths or encouraging the use of bicycles and collective transport among citizens.

It was also approved by all the municipal groups to start the procedures for the Forest Fire Prevention Plan.

On the agenda were also two proposals to commemorate March 8 as International Women's Day by joining the UN slogan "I am a generation of equality". The proposals were presented by the government team and the socialist municipal group and both were approved.

The Compromís group also made a proposal for Calp Town Council to become a full member of the Valencian Association of Meteorology (AVAMET) and for the installation of two new weather stations in the town.

The government team did not agree with the inclusion of the name País Valencià in the explanatory memorandum of this motion and proposed in its intervention that it be replaced by the name Comunitat Valenciana. The PSOE proposed the inclusion of both denominations and finally the motion was approved.
