The plenary session of Calp Town Council has finally approved the redesign of Benissa, Murillo and de Fora streets. These projects, together with the redevelopment of Alcalde Vicente Pastor street, are part of the EDUSI strategy "Revitaliza Calp" for sustainable and integrated urban development, co-financed by the European Union's European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

In today's plenary session, all the objections raised during the public exhibition on the projects were examined and the project was finally approved. The transformation of Calle Alcalde Vicente Pastor was finally approved at the end of this public information period, as no challenges were raised. This project is currently in the tendering phase.

These projects are aimed at improving pedestrian mobility and the urban landscape of these streets in the old town of Calp. The most innovative element will be the installation of an escalator in calle Alcalde Vicente Pastor and an escalator ramp in calle Murillo to facilitate access to the historic centre, especially for the elderly and people with mobility problems.

In addition, the sidewalks in Murillo, Benissa and de Fora streets will be widened and the pavement and street lighting in all these streets will be renewed, and trees will be planted in Benissa street. These projects will cost EUR 990,000, 50% of which will be financed by the ERDF.
