The Calp Town Council has approved a contract for cooperation with the company Owls, which provides first aid and rescue services on the beaches. According to this contract, 15 people will be hired for three months to control the flow of visitors to the beaches and to maintain a safe distance.

At the beginning of June, the City Council had already considered the possibility of hiring staff to enforce the rules on preventive measures on the beaches in relation to the Covid19 , but the Generalitat Valenciana (regional government) announced the recruitment of staff under its responsibility for information and cooperation with the coastal communities. In Calp in particular, 24 people were planned.

According to the information provided by the Valencian Agency for Safety and Emergency Relief (AVSRE) - the staff will be spread over several sites, will not be kept in a fixed number, nor will the same members still make up the team - the City Council believes that in order to make the system more efficient, it is necessary to recruit control staff to ensure continuity of service and to coordinate with the Generalitat (Regional Government) team.

For this reason, 15 people will be recruited for control duties on the beaches to distribute the people using the beach and to check the minimum safety distance. This will make the system for controlling presence and capacity on the beach more effective, with the associated computer application for public consultation and the beach displays. The cost of hiring the 15 people for three months is 188,074.38 €.
