Calp today held the meeting of the advisory board, which consists of former mayors of the municipality. The Advisory Board was established in 2009 as a supplementary advisory body to the Mayor. Luis Serna and Cesar Sanchez did not attend the meeting. This council, whose creation was approved in a plenary session in 2009, is composed of all those who held the office of mayor of the municipality. It is chaired by the mayor who holds the office at that time.

The meeting today was attended by Francisco Camañez, Violeta Rivera, Javier Morató, Ximo Tur and Ana Sala, as well as some councillors of the current council as listeners.

One of the issues on which all the mayors agreed was the lack of local autonomy and the lack of competence in essential aspects for the municipality, such as roads, coasts, ports, canyons, etc.

All the mayors agreed on the importance of carrying out the repair works of the promenades and beaches as soon as possible after the storm. They pointed out that the seasonal nature of tourism continues to determine the services provided by the municipality.

Other aspects were the status of the work on Vial J and the project for the second secondary school, and urban planning was also discussed at this meeting.

According to the Rules of Procedure, the task of this council is to know the action plan of the local government, its budgets and the progress of the projects. The former mayors can express their opinions and suggestions, promote cooperation and coordinate initiatives.
