On All Saints' Day, Calp Town Council has drawn up a protocol for access to and use of the town's cemeteries in order to comply with the health measures indicated by the Ministry of Health.
The plenary session of Calp Town Council has definitively approved the bases for the aid for the transport of pupils studying outside the municipality for the 2019 / 2020 academic year.
As a novelty this year, the student transport aid will benefit not only students from public and subsidised schools, but also from public schools. This is a demand that one parent made during the public hearing period against these rules and which was finally accepted.
This summer, 1,201 people took part in the guided tours of the historic quarter, organised by the Department for the Revitalisation of the Old Town in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, in order to offer the inhabitants and visitors the chance to discover part of the history of the municipality and corners of great charm: the Forat a la Mar, part of the old city wall and gateway to the Moorish quarter, the Torreó de la Peça, former defence fortifications of the city, or the picturesque Plaça dels Mariners.
In 2021, the Calp Town Council will not levy a business tax on all those entrepreneurs or tradesmen who decide to open a business or trade or change their economic activity. To this end, the ordinary plenary session of October yesterday adopted the amendment to the tax regulation regulating the fee for administrative activities resulting from the submission of pre-notification, declaration of responsibility and application for authorisation for environmental activities.
On Friday, Calp celebrates 9 October, the day of the Comunidad Valenciana, with the institutional act of awarding the "Jaume Pastor i Fluixà" prize and the city's medals of honour, which are awarded each year in recognition of the work of persons or institutions that have contributed to improving society. In this edition, the event will be held in the Plaça Major and with limited attendance, although the event can be followed on the City Council's social networks.
Calp City Council plans to purchase four new electric vehicles and two hybrid vehicles for the local police and civil protection. To this end, it will invest 205,700 euros from the 2019 budget surplus, taking advantage of the fact that the central government stipulates that municipalities can use 7 per cent of the previous year's surplus to finance electric vehicles or vehicles with a zero eco-label or ultimately with an ECO label.
At the next plenary session, which will take place on 13 October, Calp Town Council will adopt a budgetary amendment to grant a grant of 1,000 euros to local AMPA (parents' associations) for educational and telematic material.
This grant will be in addition to the 500 euros subsidy which the parents' associations receive each school year for expenditure during the school year (activities, events, materials, etc.).
The Calp City Council has just awarded the paving and lighting works for the D7 road, which begins on Avenida Diputación and ends on a street in the Benicolada district. The opening of this road is crucial to the start of work on the pedestrian bridge over the N332, as it will provide an exit for the area's neighbours, whose current access will disappear with the construction of the pedestrian bridge.
