On the occasion of Bofill Year, this week Calpe Town Hall is launching free guided tours of the buildings built by the Catalan architect in La Manzanera. The aim of this activity is to highlight the importance of the architectural legacy left by Ricardo Bofill in Calpe, which over the years has become an icon of world architecture in the second half of the 20th century.

The guided tours, which start tomorrow Thursday, will take place once a week until October in groups of a maximum of 25 people. From June, a second round of tours for foreign languages will be added. The tour will take place on foot from the Casa de la Cultura. Access to the common areas of the Plexus, Xanadu and Amphitheatre is planned, while the Red Wall will be visited from outside.

There will also be a visit to part of the Voramar promenade - from where the Social Club will be seen - as well as the highest area of La Manzanera, where the villas built by Bofill are located, to admire a panoramic view of the entire architectural complex designed by the architect.

To take part in the visits, you must register in advance at any of the tourist offices in Calpe, or by calling 965 836 920 / 965 838 532 or emailing turismo@ajCalpe.es.

As part of the route is not fully accessible, people with reduced mobility are kindly requested to inform about it when registering so that the organisation can take it into account.

In May, visits will take place on 4, 20 and 27 May at 10.30 am and 7 pm in Spanish, while in June they will take place on 3, 10, 17 and 24 June at 6.30 pm in English and 7 pm in Spanish. It is recommended to consult the Town Hall website - Calpe.es - as well as the Tourism website - Calpee.es - for the timetables of the different visits, which will vary throughout the months depending on daylight and temperatures. In July visits in French will be introduced.
