Camela will be the star band of the third edition of the Calpe Pop Festival to be held on 14 and 15 August.
The mayoress Ana Sala, accompanied by the councillor of Fiestas Paco Avargues, the president of the 2023 festival commission, Aroa Pineda, the president of the 2024 festival commission, Saray Ortiz, and the president of the Associació de Moros i Cristians Santíssim Crist de la Suor, M. ª Ángeles Penella, as well as the manager of the company Excelsior, promoter of the event, José Ruano, have presented this festival that is celebrated during the Ascension long weekend, taking advantage of the fact that Calp is in the middle of the tourist season.
"The Calpe Pop Festival is held on a very powerful long weekend, perhaps the weekend of the year when there are more people in Calp, and this festival aims to extend the festivities of the municipality in addition to offering an alternative entertainment for young people," said the mayoress.
After Los Secretos in 2021, and Marta Sánchez in 2022, this year the highlight of the festival will be the musical group Camela. Their performance is scheduled for Monday 14 August and the concert will be followed by a night of remembrance by DJ Vicente Buitron. "Camela is a group that covers a wide range of generations, from 30, 40, 50 and even people from 20 years old who listen to their music today; then you can enjoy a DJ of maximum popularity as Vicente Buitron is the DJ of the DJs of the remember", said José Ruano, manager of Excelsior.
On the 15th, the musical performances will be aimed at a younger audience and the line-up includes DJs David Casado, Pedro Sendra, Brenda Serna and the techno group Space Elephants.
The festival, whose performances are free of charge, will take place in the Parc de la Creativitat.
