Calp City Council and the contracted company Pavapark reached an agreement this morning to partially remove the regulated parking service on public roads in the blue zone from 5pm to 8pm. Thus, as of this afternoon, the blue zone service will only be effective from 9am to 2pm.
For the past few weeks, the city and the company have been studying various formulas to exempt citizens from paying the ORA after the new restrictions against COVID-19 came into effect on Thursday, 21 January, stipulating the closure of shops from 6pm followed by the closure of the public house.
The city's mayor, Ana Sala, said at the time that with the cessation of commercial and hospitality activities, "it does not make sense to charge for this service because the mobility in the street decreases significantly.
This change in the contract means that the city council will no longer have €881 per day deducted from the company's fee as long as the new measure is in force, for which no deadline has been set at the moment.
