A few months ago, the mayor César Sánchez announced the government's intention to articulate a tourism model based on healthy lifestyle and cultural tourism that will increase Calp's competitiveness as a tourist destination. With this objective, an Interdepartmental Commission has been created, attached to the area of the mayor's office to promote the exchange of knowledge and the coordination of actions among the different municipal departments involved in the design of this new tourism model.
The Tourism Product Diversification Plan of Calp, approved by the plenary meeting in 2015, made a commitment to cultural tourism around various lines of action such as the enhancement of the archaeological site Baños de la Reina and its musealization, at least in the area belonging to the Town Council. The plan also proposes the start-up of new tourism resources linked to traditional sectors (fishing culture, rural tracks, etc.).
The aim is to create a multidisciplinary working group for the sharing of knowledge that will be managed by the mayor and that will inform about the measures to be taken within the configuration of this new tourism model.
