The Grup de Teatre Lliure from Paiporta won last Friday the prize for the best show of the VIII National Amateur Theatre Competition "Antonio Ferrer, el cartero" with the play "Políticament Incorrecte"; this company was the great winner of the event since it also won the prize for the best staging and the prize for the best man character that went to Pepe Ferrandís.
The prize for the best woman character was for Eva Egido Leiva with her role in the play "Casting" of the Centro Imaginario de Estudios Artísticos in Madrid. This company also won the award for the best production. The prize for the best show is €2000, while the prize for the finalist companies is €1,000.
Since last 11th of May, the Cultural Centre of Calp has hosted the three finalist plays by the companies Zorongo Teatro from Bétera, Grup de Teatre Lliure from Paiporta and the Centro Imaginario de Estudios Artísticos in Madrid. The plays of these companies were selected among all those submitted to the contest.
The mayor of Calp César Sánchez, together with Antonio Ferrer, was in charge of the presentation of the prizes. After the ceremony of awards and closing of the contest took place the performance "Sólo, sólo para mujeres" by the company "Truitatrés Teatre de Calp".
