Calpe Town Council has agreed to initiate the procedure for the termination of the contract with the company managing the municipal swimming pool after finding repeated non-compliance with the obligations set out in the technical specifications, such as non-compliance with timetables, failure to provide supplies or the absence of lifeguard service during opening hours.
As a result, the City Council will no longer pay the fee and is beginning to assess the type of management with which the service will be provided in the future.
However, given that the deadlines and terms of resolution may be prolonged and that the service cannot be provided again until the final resolution, the Town Hall informs users who have already paid for the service, but who are not receiving it, that they should apply to the Council for a refund of the money by means of a request in which the payment is accredited in order to process the corresponding file of patrimonial responsibility and try to get the money back.
The municipal government spokesman, Ximo Perles, pointed out that "the new government has detected serious deficiencies in the provision of the service and we are acting as immediately as possible with the aim of ensuring that these deficiencies do not ultimately harm the public".
