Everything is ready for the Oktoberfest, the Beer Festival organised by the 2024 Festival Committee, currently Prefesters, which kicks off this Friday in the marquee set up in the Parc de la Creativitat. The first keg will be tapped at 8 p.m. on Friday 6 October to kick off the festival, which will last until 9 October.
As well as beer, the Oktoberfest will be serving German and Spanish food at popular prices, and there will be live music and children's activities.
As well as the beer, live music is another of the main attractions of this event. On 6 October, the German music group Don Ewaldo & Magenta and DJ Javi Más are scheduled to perform, while on 7 October there will be a German music session and in the evening DJ Daza and DJ Oltra will be playing.
On 8 October the day will begin with the installation of inflatables for children from 11 am and the preparation of a giant paella. In the afternoon there will be another session of German music and in the evening DJ Sergio Pérez will perform. On 9 October, the doors will open at 11 am and in the afternoon there will be a performance by Xaranga 442.
This initiative, managed by the prefects to raise funds for the 2024 patron saint festivities, consists of a beer festival building on the tradition that has existed in the town in this type of event for more than 30 years.
"With the Oktoberfest we kick off the most festive month of the town and at the same time it will allow the festeros to raise money for the upcoming festivities," said Ana Sala. For her part, the councillor for Fiestas, Mariola Mulet, highlighted the work of the prefesteros in organising this event, which brings back the traditional Oktoberfest.
