Calpe Town Council has begun to install new street furniture and replace elements in poor condition. To do so, it has invested a total of 150,451.63 euros, the largest amount in recent years.
The service is provided through a contract that includes two lots, one for public roads and the other for parks and gardens, which have finally been awarded to the same company Crous Expert, S.L. The first for 90,086.28 euros and the second for 60,365.35 euros.
In this way, the Town Council is launching the renovation of its street furniture, which will involve the installation of 90 litter bins and 39 benches on public roads and in the town's parks and gardens, as well as 100 planters and flower pots in the streets and 18 picnic tables in the parks. In addition, six hammocks will be installed in these recreational areas.
The municipal brigades have already begun to install this material in Almendros Street and it is planned that over the next few months this work will be carried out in different parts of the municipality.
"It was an imperative need to carry out this renovation of street furniture, especially those elements that were deteriorated by the passage of time; in fact, it is the main investment that has been made from this council for this concept in many years," said the mayoress Ana Sala.
