Yesterday was published the notice for aids for education and university transport granted by the Town Council of Calp, those interested can submit their applications in person from today until the 19th April at the Citizen Service Office (Ifach Avenue, 12) . The aid ranges between 120 and 480 Euros depending on the type of education and the distance from the centre.
The purpose of these aids is to grant financial support to help cover part of the costs of registration, accommodation, transport and / or purchase of didactic materials for students who are studying first and second year of secondary education (all modalities), middle and upper level professional education, professional artistic education, higher artistic education, university education, master and doctorate and open university, UNED and ON-LINE (all modalities), official public centres, or private state-assisted centres, located both in Calp and outside the town.
To access these grants it is necessary to be registered in Calp and have passed 50% of the registered subjects. Concerning the documentation to be submitted, candidates must submit the application for the aid, a photocopy of the student's ID, or one of the parent’s ID if the candidate is minor, the responsible declaration for not having received any help for the same purpose, the purchase invoice for the textbooks, proof of registration of the centre, final certifications and the photocopy of the bank book or account certificate for the payment.
Although the municipal government allocated 105,000€ in its budget last year to meet the needs of students, the legal services of the Town Council indicated at the time the need for the Generalitat Valenciana, through the General Department of Local Administration, to pronounce about the existence or not of duplicities in the granting of these aids in order to avoid later problems. Once the doubts have been cleared, the notice for the aids is now published.
