José Luis Peñalvo shows in Calp his exhibition "Arte y Vida" (Art and Life), whose benefits will go entirely to the Spanish Association against Cancer of Calp. The collection consists of oil paintings and watercolours of landscape themes.

Peñalvo explains to CALPENOTICIAS that his love for painting started when he was very young, and later, by the hand of the painter from Granada Paco Calvín, to whom he owes his love for the landscape, which is the main theme of "Arte y Vida" and the painter's favourite subject. More specifically, this painter is usually inspired in nature and in the towns and cities of Spain.

The author of "Arte y Vida" has previously showed three exhibitions in Calp, as well as numerous exhibitions in the Community of Madrid, especially in San Lorenzo de El Escorial and Collado Villalba.

The pictorial techniques mainly used by Peñalvo are oil, watercolour and acrylic. The painter confesses that he is passionate about miniature oil, a technique that he often uses, but does not rule out large formats when the occasion deserves it.

When asking the author what can be found in "Arte y Vida", Peñalvo answers: "part of my work and my love and solidarity with the people of the group for which the exhibition is dedicated", values that, in addition, suppose the differential note of this exhibition with respect to other collections of the same painter. An exhibition that, in the words of its author, "arose from the need to give something in gratitude to the all the things received.

Peñalvo is grateful to the Calp Town Council for their support in organizing this event and their sensitivity to this cause that affects everyone.

The collection can be visited until the 28th February in the Exhibition’s Hall of the Cultural Centre of Calp. The opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm.
