The Town Council of Calp, through an Employment Promotion Program, has restored two cadastral tracks in the Sierra de Oltà. These paths are two sections of a track, one of them, with an extension of 300 meters and connecting with the old road of Oltà, and the other way, about 400 meters, is located at the top of Cucarres.
The action is part of the program of the Environment Department to restore traditional paths in the municipality, and is included in the preventive forestry work carried out by 7 workers and an one journeyman within the Program of Promotion of Employment subsidized with 73,061,000€.
From December to June the workers have carried out cleaning and clearing work in different parts of the municipality, in this way they have fitted out a path between Tossal and Puerto Blanco and made works in Empedrola, Casanova, Cocó, Canuta, Manzanera, Costeres, Maryvilla, Bassetes and Oltà.
The Councillor for the Environment, Jan Van Parijs, has pointed out that "we want to increase the value of what we have, and with this program we restore those paths that the old residents of the town used and which today are an attraction of our municipality".
