Calp celebrated the New Year's concert on Monday by the ADDA Simfònica and considered the cultural event of the year in the town, which brought together more than 2,000 people in the Mayor Square. In fact, the initial expectations were exceeded since the organization planned seats for 1,500 people.
The concert was conducted by the prestigious and charismatic musician Josep Vicent from Altea, who showed his complicity with the public on several occasions, and counted on the soprano Luca Espinosa, from Crevillente. The concert was presented by the journalist Manuel Gómez, from Calp.
The audience vibrated with the waltzes, polkas, and arias played by the resident orchestra of the Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante, ADDA-Simfònica, among them famous pieces such as "The Blue Danube" or the "Radetzky March". ADDA Simfònica invited local musicians from Altea, Teulada, Callosa, Orba, Benidorm, Vila Joiosa and Calp, among others, to perform at the concert. From the town of the rock, the musician Francesc Bolo took part with the sax.
The president of Diputación and mayor of Calp, César Sánchez, announced that next year Calp will once again host this concert, which Trece TV will broadcast throughout Spain on the 6th January, the Three Wise Men day, at 10 o'clock in the morning.
